Know Your Island Walks- Young Hill

Know Your Island Walks- Garry oaks of Young Hill with San Juan Island Field Assistant for the San Juan County Conservation Land Bank Shauna Barrows.

Join the Trails Committee for a group hike on San Juan Island on the last Saturday of each month (except where noted) at 10am. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and sturdy walking shoes. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Parking might be limited, so please try to carpool. Dogs on leash where permitted.

Join Shauna Barrows, San Juan Island Field Assistant for the SJC Land Bank, for a 2.2-mile hike through the Garry oak ecosystem at English Camp. As we walk around Young Hill, Shauna will discuss the ecological and cultural importance of Garry oaks, their unique plant communities, and the challenges of supporting biodiversity and climate resilience on the islands.
